A proposal that the Harvard Co-operative Society sell "wine spirits and malt beverages" was advanced yesterday by Winthrop D. Thies 2L, at the meeting of the participating members of the Coop.
Thies pointed out that most of the Coop's members were definitely interested in purchasing this type of merchandise, and that since the Coop existed for the benefit of its members, it ought to begin to sell such articles. The members present passed a motion that the directors of the Coop conduct an investigation into the feasibility of carrying the commodities.
Stanley F. Teele, President of the Coop and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, described the continued progress of the Society. He cited an increased membership, more sales, and added floor space as signs of prosperity.
The members also passed a resolution of commendation congratulating the directors and employees for their work during the past fiscal year.
