Chairmen Appointed In 3 Departments

The naming of three new department chairmen was announced among other appointment by President Pusey.

Clyde K. M. Kluckhohn, professor of Anthropology, will head the Anthropology Department, and Roderick Firth, associate professor of Philosophy, will head the Philosophy Department, starting July 1. Henry C. Hatfield '44, professor of German, has been appointed acting chairman of the Division of Modern Languages.

Named to the Committee on Degrees in History in Literature were J. N. Douglas Bush, professor of English; Raphael Demos, Alford Professor of Natural Religion, Moral Philosophy and Civil Polity; Franklin L. Ford, associate professor of History; and Wilbur M. Frohock, professor of Romance Languages.

Members of the reorganized Committee on Regional Studies are chairman William L. Langer '15, Coolidge Professor of History; Carl J. Fried-rich, Eaton Professor of Government; Sir Hamilton A. R. Gibb, Jewett Professor of Arabic; Edward A. S. Mason, Dean of the Graduate School of Public Administration; Talcott Parsons, professor of Sociology; and Edwin O. Reischauer, professor of Far Eastern Languages.
