Corporation Meets; Weighing of Jordan Successor Possible

Harvard's twenty-first football coach may be named at today's meeting of the Corporation, the first since Lloyd P. Jordan was dismissed two weeks ago.

The Corporation does not divulge its agenda, but it seemed likely that the subject of a successor for Jordan would come up for discussion at today's session, which begins at 9:30 a.m.

No official word has come forth on the subject since the termination of Jordan's contract, but it has been reported that applications for the post are being considered. At the time of its recommendation that Jordan be dismissed, the powerful Faculty Committee on Athletics recommended also that backfield coach Harold M. "Josh" Williams be appointed to succeed him, but no decision was announced on that proposal.

Speculation on the new coach has continued intermittently in the interval since Jordan's dismissal, but there are no announced candidates for the position. Colgate coach Hal Lahar, who said at first that he was interested, has since gone to the University of Houston.
