John A. Simourian '57 of Leverett House and Watertown was elected captain of next year's baseball team after yesterday's game. Simourian, a first baseman, was recently named to the Greater Boston League All-Stars.
He captained his freshman baseball team, and was a three letter man at Watertown High School. He is a wingback on the varsity football team.
The left-handed Simourian bats third on the baseball team. By hitting two home runs against Yale yesterday he assumed the team lead in that department with a season's total of five, and his 16 runs batted in place him second to Bob Hastings' 21.
Simourian will succeed Kenneth Rossano '56 of Kirkland and East Meadow. Rossano, a right-handed pitcher, is probably out for the season with a broken left thumb.
