Crews Depart for Red Top to Start Eli Preparations

The varsity crew departed for Red Top yesterday, where it will prepare for the four-mile Yale race at New London, Conn., on June 16 and possibly, depending on its performance in this race, for the Olympic trials at the end of the month. Three other crews, the jayvee, freshmen, and combination, have also entered Red Top seclusion in preparation for their Yale races.

Earlier in the week Coach Harvey Love rearranged his line-up, moving Geoffrey Locke, who had been at six, to stroke in place of Fritz Schwartz, bringing Charley Faulkner up from the jayvees to four for Charley Atkinson, who shifted to six, and finally inserting Henry Hammond into two for Art Hodges.

The present line-up is largely a return to the one of Love had used before the changes, with Hammond the only former jayvee to remain on the varsity.
