Norman W. Fradd, Director of Physical Training, will retire at the close of this academic year after 37 years on the staff of the Department of Athletics.
Fradd has the longest record of service in the Department, having begun his duties here in 1919. He is the originator of the "step-test," a five-minute physical test each freshman takes upon entrance. During the Second World War, Fradd directed a program of Army and Navy units here.
