WILSON, S. C., April 12-The Philadelphia Phillies wasted two home runs today as they dropped a 6-4 decision to the Boston Red Sox before a record breaking paid crowd of 6,500 here today.

Rookie Bob Bowman and Roy Smalley hit the homers for the Phillies, but their efforts failed as Curt Simmons gave up four runs on five hits and six walks in the first five innings.
