One of those wild student dreams came true last night at the I.A.B. when Dick Barringer of Dudley squared off against Adams House Tutor Henry Landau, Barringer's section man in Math, in the 175-lb. finals of the House Boxing Championships.

For once in a faculty-student contest, the student won, in this case by a referee's decision. Barringer's win sparked the Dudley team to the House Championship.

Dudley boxers racked up a total of 18 points to win the title easily. The Commuters won in two other divisions, Fred Joseph decisioning John Bower of Dunster in the 135-lb. class while Morris Dratch won the 165-lb. title by gaining a decision over Stan Freedman of Eliot. Dudley also had one second-place as John DiTroia of Adams TKO'd the Dudley 125 entry, Don Tank.

Leverett was runner-up with 11 points. The lone victory came in the Unlimited class where John Canning won a referee's verdict over Joe Herlihy of Lowell. The second places were in the 130-and 155-lb. classes. In the former, Jerry Bresnahan of Kirkland TKO'd Bob Holmes of Leverett with 5 seconds left in the first round. Tony Murray, Leverett's 155 entry was also TKO'd, Karl Purnell of Eliot winning the title.

Max Leloir from Lowell won the remaining match in the 145-lb. final, defeating Dave Jordan of Dunster by a TKO in the second round. This victory enabled Lowell to tie Eliot and Adams for third place in the overall standings. Dunster was next, followed by Kirkland. Winthrop didn't have any men in the finals.

Grays ran away with the Freshman Championship, winning in four classes and gaining second place in two others. Fred Gilbert of Grays won by default, as did Tony Cowal, and Howard Kristol. The defaults came in the 125, 130 and 145 lb. classifications.
