Five professorial appointments, two in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and three in the Law School, were announced yesterday by Dean Griswold and Dean Bundy.
Edwin G. Boring, professor of Psychology, will serve as the first Edgar Pierce Professor of Psychology, Bundy revealed.
Bundy also announced that Willard V. Quine, professor of Philosophy, will become Edgar Pierce Professor of Philosophy next year. Quine succeeds Clarence I. Lewis '06, who retired from the chair in 1953.
Robert E. Keeton, John T. McNaughton, and Donald T. Trautman '46 have been named professors of Law, Dean Griswold said yesterday. All three are now assistant professors.
