Dean von Stade considers the extension of freshman parietal hours until 11 p.m. Saturday nights a good idea, Marc E. LeLand '59 reported to the Union Committee last night.
Von State said he would present the group's suggestion to a meeting of the head proctors Thursday night and then to the Administrative Board. He added that he thought the proposal was well timed, as upperclassmen will come into the Yard next fall.
The proposed regulation would permit freshmen to entertain dates from 4 to 7 p.m. on weekdays, 1 to 11 p.m. on Saturdays. and 1 to 7 p.m. on Sundays. The change would eliminate the present hours from 1 to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
The Union Committee, in the final letter of their suggestion which von Stade had requested, voted unanimously to change the freshman regulations to conform with those in the Houses.
