Hockey Team Elects James Bailey As Captain for 1956-1957 Season

The varsity hockey team yesterday elected James A. Bailey '57 of Wellesley and Winthrop House captain for the 1956-57 season.

Bailey has played second goalie behind this year's Captain Charlie Flynn for two seasons. Although he hasn't yet played a full varsity game, Bailey gained considerable experience by tending goal for one or two periods in several games. He played two scoreless periods against Dartmouth and shut out the U.S. Olympic Team for the final ten minutes of its Boston appearance.

Bailey started in goal for Noble and Greenough School for two years and captained the team his senior year. He proved to be the mainstay of the 1957 freshman team and was largely responsible for the '57 sextet's 3-2 win over Princeton and 3-3 tie with Yale.
