A four-goal surge in the last period enabled the junior varsity hockey team to defeat the Yale Seconds at Watson Saturday, 6 to 2. The win gave the jayvees a 5-5 season's record, including victories over both Big Three rivals, Yale and Princeton.

The jayvees had to come from behind twice, and it wasn't until the end of the third period that they took a commanding lead. Wing Dave Holmes broke a 2-2 tie with his goal from the far left in the opening minutes of the last period to put the Crimson ahead for the first time.

Subsequent goals by John Hamlen and Tim Clark (2) then put the game beyond doubt. Captain Denny French scored the first jayvee goal at the 17-minute mark of the first period after Yale had gone ahead. Holmes did the same thing in the next stanza.
