On the strength of five second-period goals, the Yardling hockey team rolled to a 10-1 victory over a weak Northeastern six yesterday on Watson Rink.
The Crimson was in command throughout the game and had no trouble in running its season's record to 17-1. Captain George Higginbottom, Bill Collins, and Dave Birch led the freshman scoring with two goals apiece, while Dick Reilly, Dick Fischer, Dave Vietze, and Paul Kelley each added single tallies.
The victory was particularly significant, for in an earlier meeting this year the freshmen barely edged the Huskies, 5 to 4. In what should prove to be another breather for the powerful Yardlings, they will face a weak Tufts team this Saturday at 4 p.m. on Watson Rink. The competition will become somewhat stiffer next Tuesday, however, when the Crimson plays Dartmouth.
