The College announced yesterday the awarding of two of its major prizes to James R. Lehrich '58 of Dunster House and Brooklyn, N.Y., and Robert P. Cumming '57 of Eliot House and Davidson, N.C.

Lehrich has been awarded the Jacob Wendell Scholarship for 1955-56. This prize scholarship is awarded each year to a member of the sophomore class. The Wendell family gives a dinner each year for the recipient and the past Wendell scholars.

Cumming is the winner of the Harvard Monthly Prize for the year 1955-56. The prize is sustained by the income from a special fund and is awarded to the student in the most advanced course in English composition who shows the greatest literary promise.
