Each year at the beginning of February Hanover prepares for the East's biggest party and best collegiate competition in winter sports--the Dartmouth Winter Carnival. Two Crimson teams will compete at Hanover this week-end.
The Dartmouth Outing Club reported six inches of snow and more falling. Some members of the Crimson ski team, in order to take advantage of the last minute snow, left for Hanover yesterday to practice on the jump and run cross-country.
The jumping will be held on Dartmouth's 50 meter hill, but the slalom and downhill will be run at Pico Peak, N.H.
The Crimson hockey team is slated to face Dartmouth at 11 a.m. Saturday. Coach Coony Weiland will keep the team practicing in Cambridge until two hours before their departure today at 5 p.m.
The Outing Club expects 2000 female spectators to gather on the campus before the festivities end.
