Norman Thomas and John Dos Passos '16 will debate "The Future of Socialism" tonight at Sanders Theater in the Law School Forum. Thomas, six times presidential candidate for the Socialist party, is expected to defend his party against the criticism of Dos Passos.
The debate begins at 8 p.m., with tickets available at the door.
Dos Passos, author of the trilogy "U.S.A." and other novels, was at one time a member of the Socialist party. He subsequently left the party, however, after attacking it as a failure. Thomas, besides his work for the Socialists, was one of the organizers of the Civil Liberties Union.
