The varsity hockey team's chances of receiving a return invitation to the NCAA championships in Colorado got a substantial boost from Saturday's victory over Boston College. Coach Cooney Weiland remarked yesterday that if the Crimson wins its four remaining games, "I don't see how they can overlook us."
Clarkson and St. Lawrence are the logical choices to represent the East, but the former has indicated that it won't accept an invitation if its seven four-year veterans remain ineligible. The NCAA eligibility committee is expected to make a final ruling this week. Until Saturday, B.C. was third and Harvard fourth in the Eastern rankings.
