The Crimson baseball team will open its season with contests against six Southern teams, Thomas D. Bolles, director of Athletics, announced yesterday.
The varsity starts its 25-game schedule against the Quantico Marines on April 2. The first northern game is at M.I.T. April 11; in the opening home game the team meets Tufts on April 19.
The Crimson, runner-up in the Eastern Intercollegiate League last year, winning 18 of 23 games, should field another strong team. To be a contender again, however, Coach Norman Shepard will have to count on help from members of last year's freshman team.
The Yardlings begin the season against M.I.T. on April 14.
