Lions and Quakers Favored to Top Crimson Quintet in Next Two Days

The Crimson basketball team travels to New York to oppose fading Columbia tonight, and then moves south to Philadelphia, where it will meet Penn tomorrow.

The Lions still lead the Ivy League with a 6-3 record, but since Chet Forte was declared scholastically ineligible last week they have failed to win. Yet the presence of Frank Thomas and Ted Dwyer should still be enough to assure the home team of its nineteenth consecutive victory over the Crimson.

Tomorrow's 7:45 contest at Penn will once again find the visitors the underdog, as Penn will seek to avenge its January loss to the Crimson. The Quakers, now fourth in the Ivy League with a 4-3 record, are still in contention for the title, but cannot afford to lose more than one more game, if that many.

The Crimson will be seeking to snap a losing streak that has plagued the team since Jan. 14. After beating Penn the day before that, the Crimson has lost six games in a row and dropped to last place.
