Wrestling Team Rates Edge Over Quakers

A mediocre varsity wrestling team rates a slight edge over a poor Pennsylvania squad today in Philadelphia.

Although Penn is ranked as the weakest team in the Ivy League, the Crimson has shown little in its last two matches. Penn has won only a single meet in its last 27 and can be expected to bow again.

The Crimson enters the match with an even record. After downing M.I.T. and Amherst, the varsity faltered to lose to Cornell and Columbia.

Only Steve Friedberg, the most powerful Quaker threat, should defeat Dick Hook at 157. The rest of the varsity wrestlers are favored in their contests.

Tatsuo Arima will wrestle at 127, John Winthrop at 130, Pete Hiam at 137, Captain Phil Burnamen at 147, Bob Gilmor at 167, Ed Raymond at 177 and 245-pound Pete Morrison in the unlimited class.
