The freshman squash team opens its season this afternoon against Phillips Academy at Hemenway Gymnasium. With one of the brightest prospects in recent years for a good season, the Yardlings should defeat a perennially weak Andover team with little difficulty.
The freshman squad boasts two of the top prep-school players of last year in Gerry Emmett and Charlie Polletti. At Brooks School, Emmett was Interscholastic Squash Champion and number one man on the Brooks squad. Polletti, an Exeter graduate, was a member of an Exeter team which was one of the finest in New England last year.
The Yardlings will play a return match with Andover at Andover later in the year.
