A team from the Harvard Debating Council placed first in one of the three tournaments which the Council entered last weekend. The first place honors were won by Jimmie R. Sikes '59, Robert A. In a second tournament held at Tufts University, a Council team placed fourth.

The third Harvard team placed ninth out of 40 schools at New York University. All debates were on this year's national topic: "Resolved: That the U.S. should discontinue direct economic aid to foreign countries."
