A recount of sophomore ballots cast in Thursday's Student Council elections has confirmed the accuracy of the original count, John B. Read '57, chairman of the Council Elections Committee, announced yesterday.

Three defeated sophomore candidates had requested the recount Friday because of the narrow margins. Read said the candidates were present at the re-tally, and were satisfied that the results were accurate. Although the Council did not release the election figures, only two or three votes reportedly separated the winning and losing candidates.

Sophomores elected were William J. Dean '59, Henri de Bayle '59, and Paul Campanis '59.
