The Crimson soccer team will be a definite underdog when it faces Yale at 1:45 this afternoon on the Business School Field. The Elis are just as strong as last year when the squad finished third in the Ivy League behind Harvard and Penn.
The varsity, however, has been able to win only one contest this year, over Princeton, two weeks ago. The Crimson fell into its losing pattern once again last week against Brown, and seemed to have lost much of the spark which enabled Harvard to defeat the Tigers.
Yale, on the other hand, has been strengthened by the return of center half Bob Pelletreau after a year in Europe. The forward line will also feature Mike Cooke at inside right and Lars Kulleseid at inside left. Sam Allen at left fullback, and junior Scott Murphy in the goal are defensive standouts.
Crimson coach Bruce Munro is still retaining the line-up which snapped the six-game losing streak at Princeton. Hank Holmes will be at outside left, Tom Bernheim at inside left, Jim Shue at center forward, Ken McIntosh at inside right, and Robin Magowan at outside right. John Felstiner will go at left halfback, Captain Grey Hodnett at center half, and Tony Oberschall at right half.
Chris Provenson will play left fullback, Don Beaver right fullback, and Elliot Finkelstein will be in the goal. Charlie MacVeagh will be ready for limited action in the line.
