Crimson Elevens Meet Yale J.V.s, Freshmen Today

The freshman football team will seek the all-important victory at 1:45 this afternoon when it meets Yale on Soldiers Field. Since the Crimson is now at full strength, it should be a fairly even contest. The Elis have a 2-3 record, while the Yardlings have won one and lost three.

The JV eleven, however, faces a tougher assignment in its Yale game, also at 1:45. "It looks like it's going to be a rugged afternoon," said coach Norm Shepard yesterday, but he refused to predict anything.

For the freshmen, guard Pete Evarts, tackle Roger Dashen, and end Harold Keohane will reappear in the Crimson lineup after being sidelined with injuries. In the most important comparative score, the Blue lost to Princeton, 18 to 2 last week, while the Yardlings were defeated by the Tigers, 20 to 0.

The Crimson JV squad, winless in four games this season, will be without the services of halfback Tom Lawson, who has been out for three weeks with a leg injury. "The team's in good shape, though," Shepard said. "We ought to give them a pretty good game."
