City Councillor Al Vellucci yesterday told the CRIMSON that Thursday's offer to the University by a "leading Peterborough citizen" of 400 acres for a relocated College is "all a planned hoax by a group of Peterborough businessmen to take away our colleges and industries."
In reply, Daniel F. Eneguess. executive secretary of the Monadnock Region Association, the sponsor of the offer, said, "If we can take any industry away from Cambridge, we'd be darn glad to get it."
Meanwhile, Major A. Erland Goyette--reportedly indentified early yesterday as the "prominent citizen"--denied that he was the donor of the 400-acre site.
