Down at the brave new world of New Haven, athletic Elis have practiced to the drone of slogans designed to remind them of their close shave with the University of Connecticut and their struggle with Columbia.
Coach Jordan Olivar revealed that the following brain-primers marked each day's practice.
Monday -- "Remember the Unconns!"
Tuesday -- "Hail Columbia! Let's Give It to Them."
Wednesday--"Columbia Will Be Easy -- If We Make It So!"
Thursday -- Victory at a Price -- Hard, Intelligent Work."
He said that they were "nothing erudite, mind you, but one little reminder each day this week. They may sound 'corny,'" he added.
There was no comment on the rumors that Aldous Huxley had been hired to write them and that they were played over and over again all through the day and night in such strategic places as the Varsity Club and Mory's.
