Atlanta Paper Slurs Cancellation of Tour

A column in the Atlanta Journal of Oct. 11 takes issue with the Administration's decision to cancel a proposed basketball team tour through the South.

"News evidently just reached 'the Yahd' that we have certain firmly established ways of life down here," the columnist observed.

"With a delicate gesture," the Journal says, "Harvard whisked the carefully folded handkerchief from the breast pocket of its muted toned jacket and flicked Tech and Loyola on the knuckles. It was the Ivy League touch."

"The posture not only was ludicrous," the newspaper charged, "but Harvard ran out on a contract, a cheap, ill-bred gesture."
