Eight new spring term courses--three in English, two in history, one in government, one in social relations and one in Semitics--will be offered to undergraduates at registration.
New history courses are History 138, "Civil-Military Relations in Western Society," and History 167, a lecture and discussion course in labor history from the Civil War to the present time.
The Government Department's new half-course is entitled "Contemporary Political Theory," and will deal with the ultimate moral problems of politics and the individual.
The Social Relations Department will present a study of functionalism entitled "The Recent History of Sociological Theory," Social Relations 113. In the Semitics Department, Semitics 166A, the new spring term course, will deal with "The Emergence of the State of Israel: Jewish Nationalism."
