Tenley E. Albright '57, American woman's figure skating champion, left Logan Airport for New York City last night to join the U.S. Olympic team which flies today for Cortine D' Ampezzo, Italy, the site of the 1956 winter Olympic Games.

There, she will compete in the two events which comprise the Olympic Skating Championship: the figure skating and free skating events on Jan. 30, 31, and Feb. 2, respectively.

Following this she will enter the world championships at Germisch, Germany, and will then give exhibitions in Berlin, Vienna, and possibly in some Iron Curtain countries.

On leave of absence from Radcliffe for the year, Miss Albright, who at twenty has won two world championships, three national championships, and a second place medal in the 1952 Olympics, will be abroad for about six weeks. "My courses are all skating," she commented.

Four years ago, World Figure Skating Champion Dick Button '52, left the University briefly to defend his title in the 1952 Olympics at Oslo.
