Funneymen Feepe, Flop Elgaine, 23 to 2

A curious assortment of legitimate funnymen, together with an equal number of friends hastily dragged out of Washington St. pubs for the occasion, staggered back to the birdmen's Bow St. sanctuary late Saturday.

The bird fanciers earlier in the day had followed form in their predicted annual double defeat before the Crime on the athletic fields.

After chief funnyman Peter H.C.J. Williams '56 found at the last minute he could not squeeze into a shell, the other seven humor men came in for a slight dunking. The Ibis shell sank after crashing into the center support on the Cottage Farm Bridge on the way.

On the baseball diamond, an old familiar story was repeated to an old familiar tune, as the Crime romped home, 23 to 2, behind the heady pitching of Cliff (The Whip) Thompson.

Despite the double defeat, Proxy Williams gave each Washington St. helper a free, autographed back issue of his magazine.
