The varsity discovered a potential star yesterday, when Bill Bell of Dunster House utilized a tail wind to turn in a 10.0 second 100-yard dash, but it was too late for Bell graduates in June.
Despite Bell's victory in the 100, Dunster found itself behind Eliot at the end of the Inter-House running events, with Kirkland and Lowell tied for third. The held events will take place today.
Bob Gilmor of Adams also surprised the clockers with a 52.2 time in the 440-yard event but Adams finished fourth, despite another victory in the half-mile relay.
Arnie Howe of Kirkland and Bob Pyle of Lowell both pulled double wins. Howe won the mile run in 5:08 and the 880 in 2:11.4, while Pyle took the 120 low hurdles in 15 seconds, and the 220-yard dash in the announced time of 23.5.
In the freshman events, Doug Runnels of Grays took the 100 (above) ahead of Stu Eddy and Nicky Beilenson, but Matthews South led in total score going into today's field events with Grays the only competitor.
