The freshman baseball team defeated Cusing Academy, 14 to 5, while the Yardling lacrosse team was downing Governor Dummer, 11 to 5, yesterday.
The nine, bolstered by a fine relief job by pitcher Dae Collins, collected 16 safeties to continue their blistering pace at the plate. Leading the attack were Frank Saia with a home run and two singles, Tom Bergantino with three singles, John Davis and Bob Cleary with two triples, and Collins with two safeties.
General improvement and increased teamwork marked the lacrosse victory as Mike Shaw scored five goals and Dub Mallonee made three.
