Students Will Pay Four Equal Room Rent, Board Bills

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

University students will pay room rent and board charges in four equal installments beginning next year, it was learned yesterday.

The new billing system will effect both undergraduate and graduate student rent paying procedure, but will not apply to graduate board bills.

The change was made in order to facilitate the payment of bills. "We think it will be a good deal easier to have the bills all equal," Edward Reynolds, Administrative vice-President, said yesterday.

"As a result of the change, students, will not have to pay the greater part of their bills in two installments. The charges, therefore, will be easier to meet," Roy V. Perry, Bursar, added.

Bookkeeping More Difficult

Graduate student board bills will not change, because the students do not pay a fixed amount. Perry explained that the students can discontinue eating at their dining halls at any time and are not charged when they eat elsewhere.

The new plan will make University bookkeeping even more difficult because of the two additional room rent bills, Perry said. In the past, rent has been paid at the beginning of the fall and spring terms. Students will henceforth receive bills at registration, on Nov. 21, Jan. 20, and April 20.

The fourth board bill will be payable on July 16 instead of at registration.
