William E. Castle '93, professor of Genetics, emeritus, has received the first Kimber Genetics Award from the National Academy of Sciences.
The medal, established for scientific contributions in the field of genetics, was awarded to Castle for demonstrating the "role of what we now know as genes as the mechanisms by which inherited characteristics are transmitted."
