The varsity sailors placed a disappointing ninth in the Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup race at the Tufts Yacht Club yesterday afternoon. Georgetown College collected 177 points to head the field of 12 colleges.
Tommy Townsend with John Reed as crew scored only 75 points, whereas he might have won the "B" division if he had not been disqualified in three heats out of the ten in his division. In the "A" division, A. C. Langworthy with the crew of Mac Williams managed but 66 points.
The teams, as they finished, are: Georgetown 177, Princeton 174, Tufts 170, Northeastern 163, Williams 155, Boston College 146, McGill 145, M.I.T. 145, Harvard 141, Brown 134, Ohio State 132, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute 105.
