After completing its season tied for first place with Coast Guard Academy, the varsity riffle team fired a 1,375 to place third in the New England Collegiate Rifle League's ten-team Southern group tournament Saturday at New London, Conn.
Coast Guard took first place honors with 1,398, followed by Yale with 1,382.
The matches were held to qualify teams for the League finals at B.U. this Saturday. High scorer for the Crimson was John Leness who made 280 out of 300 points. Rounding out the top five men were Bon Dane with 277, John Liebeskind with 274, Evan Spelfogel with 273, and captain John Hessel with 271.
