Grays' strong freshman volley ball team won the title in the title in the American League last night when they defeated Wigglesworth West, 2 games to 1. They finished regular play with a 6-1 won-lost record.
In the National League. Holworthy defeated Dudley yesterday afternoon, 2 to 1, to end regular play with a 6-1 record, and Thayer Middle won via forfeit over Thayer south last night to tie Holworthy with the same 6-1 record. The two teams will have a play-off for the title at 3:30 p.m. today in Hemenway.
Wheresss Holworthy's only loss came at the start of the season when they forested their opener to Hollis, Thayer Middle lost to Holworthy, 2 to 0, during regular play.
Grays will meet the National League champion at 3;30 p.m. tomorrow at Hemenway to determine the yard champion.
