Sen. Hubert H. Humphrey (D-Minn.) will speak on "Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Modern Democratic Party," before an estimated 100 representatives from 30 colleges, attending the New England Intercollegiate Association of Young Democrats Convention, tomorrow at 3 p.m. in Harkness Commons.
The convention will begin tonight when Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. '38, associate professor of History, will discuss "The Democratic Party and American Liberalism," at 9 p.m. at Harkness.
Sponsored by the Harvard Young Democrats, "The convention is open to the Harvard community in general, and is designed to acquaint the college youth with the Young Democratic movement and the principles of the Democratic Party concerning contemporary issues," Frederick J. Willman '56, President of the New England Intercollegiate Association of Young Democrats, said last night.
