The spring blood drive solicitation in the College has been extended until Monday night because of the "very low" number of pledges, Louis H. Fingerman '56, co-chairman of the Phillips Brooks House Blood Drive Committee, announced last night.
Fingerman said the total number of pledges fell far short of those received during the fall drive. According to Friday's totals, 1,350 pints were pledged, slightly over half of last fall's 2,600. Fingerman attributed the decrease largely to a "general apathy" among the students contacted.
"The purpose in extending the undergraduate drive is to make sure that everyone has been contacted," Fingerman said. Many of the Committee's solicitors were hampered by their approaching hour exams, he added.
The graduate schools and the married students' housing development were not visited in this week's drive. They will be canvassed sometime during next week.
