A questionnaire on student religious interest, sponsored by the Student Council, will be distributed to approximately 200 undergraduates today and next week.
The questionnaire, drawn up with the approval of George A. Buttrick, University Preacher, Gordon W. Allport '19, professor of Psychology, and Dean Watson, will deal primarily with the effect of various college experiences on students' religious beliefs.
The survey is part of a comprehensive Council investigation of faculty, student, and clerical opinion, in preparation for a report on the role of religion in general education.
Participants in the poll were selected at random. Previous to its proposed distribution throughout the undergraduate body, the questionnaire was tested on a group of students in Winthrop House.
The Council will publish the results of the investigation in May.
