Austin Will Deliver 12 James Lectures

John L. Austin, professor of Moral Philosophy at Oxford, will speak on "How to do things with Words," at 4:00 this afternoon, in the first of 12 William James Lectures in Philosophy.

Austin is an expert on the philosophy of language, which Morton G. White, professor of Philosophy, called "the center of philosophical interest in America today." White described Austin as "one of the leading English philosophers of our age."
