Winthrop and Kirkland will battle for the House basketball championship in the final game of the season tonight.

In their first meeting of the season, Winthrop defeated Kirkland, 66 to 40. However, tonight's game, with the championship at stake, should be much closer, Adolph W. Samborski '25, Director of Intramural Athletics, said last night.

In games involving the league leaders yesterday, Kirkland defeated Dudley, 58 to 38, and Winthrop outscored Lowell, 78 to 47. Dunster edged Eliot, 46 to 43, and Loverett trounced Adams, 39 to 16, in other games.

Two of the league's top scorers will be opposing each other in this final game. John Green of Kirkland with 212 points is leading in scoring, and Bill Riggs of Winthrop is third with 165. Other top scorers are Burt Berson of Dunster with 171 pints, John Hurst of Lowell with 164, and Dan Mayers of Leverett with 163.

In "B" league basketball, Kirkland is the leader, closely followed by Dunster.

Dudley moved into first place in House hockey competition with a victory over Lowell. Eliot House is in second place, only one point behind Dudley.
