Von Stade Objects To Union Proposal

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman Union Committee will have to petition the Administrative Board to open the Union to unescorted girls, F. Skiddy Von Stade, Jr. '88, Dean of Freshmen, said yesterday. "I don't think they have much of chance," he added.

The proposal represents a major change in the parietal hours system, Von Stade said, and that it would set a precedent for the whole College if it were passed.

The Union Committee had voted last week to held open house in the Union on winter-term weekends. Couples and girls without escorts would be invited.

"I can't imagine any Radcliffe girl in her right mind going up to the Union," Von Stade commented.
