Weld, Matthews Quintets Win Games

Led by the shooting of Bill Dean, Weld South defeated Straus North in the Yard's American Basketball League, 32 to 11, last night. In the other American League game Matthews South edged Grays, 30 to 28.

High scorer for Matthews South was Guido Goldman, with 12 points. Gray Huber led Grays with 10 points. In the other two games scheduled for last night Thayer Middle forfeited to Thayer North and Lionel forfeited to Wigglesworth West.

Weekly standings in the freshman basketball competition have not yet been compiled, but will be released when ready. The program is currently in its second week.
