True Conservatives To Ask Recognition

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The new True Conservative Legion attracted 15 prospective members to its first meeting on Tuesday night and will apply for official recognition by Dean Watson, a club spokesman said yesterday.

Formerly the Reactionary Club, its purpose is "to combat all forms of liberalism, progressive Republicanism and moderate conservatism." The spokesman denied that it is an outgrowth of the NCC minority, adding that Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. '28, professor of History, has been suggested as adviser.

Schlesinger said last night he would serve, but that "there are enough reactionaries on the faculty that they ought to be able o find someone more sympathetic to their views."
