Overcoming a 2-0 deficit with four goals in the second period and six in the third, the undefeated Yardling hockey team swamped an out-manned, out-classed, but spirited Walpole High School sextet at Watson Rink yesterday afternoon, 10-0.
During the first period, the Yardling passing and shooting were so ineffective that the Walpole goalie had to make only three saves. During the second period, however, the sextet's teamwork, which had carried it to four previous wins, began to show. Besides the four goals which he allowed, the Walpole goalie was forced to make 15 saves, one more than Dick Cleary, the Crimson, goalie, made during the entire game.
Leading the scoring with four points apiece for the victors were Dick Fischer who scored the hat trick, three goals, and one assist and Bill Collins, who scored two goals and two assists. Bill DeFord and Dave Vietze tallied three points on two assists and a goal each, while Whip Filoon and Mo Balboni both scored two points.
