Estes Kefauver, Democratic Senator from Tennessee and a contender for the 1956 Democratic presidential nomination, may speak before a University audience in Sanders Theatre on Thursday afternoon January 12.
Kefauver's speech here will be sponsored by the Harvard Young Democratic Gordon A. Martin '57, vice-president of Club. In making the announcement, the club, said that Kefauver has not yet indicated the topic of his speech. "I assume politics will enter into it," Martin said.
The date of Kefauver's speech coincides with his proposed trip here to confer with his supporters in Massachusetts. It is possible that unforeseen Congressional business may arise in Washington and force cancellation of the trip.
Kefauver consented to speak here after an invitation from the Young Democrats last week.
