Soapy Crew Squad Postpones Practice

Varsity crew coach Harvey Love was foaming mad yesterday afternoon. Anonymous pranksters had poured several bottles of soap into the winter rowing tank. The product was akin to an exploded laundry when the first eight plied their oars in the innocent looking mixture.

Coaches and workmen spent three hours draining and cleaning the tank, but there may be no rowing today, since some remaining residue is temporarily clogging the tank's mechanism.

The soapsters seemed ignorant of the consequences, as the not result of their efforts was a two day suspension of operations at Newell Boathouse. Coach Love expressed his regret that such an apparently harmless trick could cause so much trouble.
