Cleary, Manchester On Olympic Squad

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Bill Cleary '56 and Doug Manchester '55 were named to the United States Olympic hockey team yesterday. The squad will leave for Italy next month, after playing an exhibition in Boston Arena on Jan. 15 against a combined Boston College, Boston University, and Harvard team.

Eighteen other players also were placed on the squad, including former Yale defenseman George Gould, and former Dartmouth forward John Titus. All four Ivy League players are now in the armed services.

Cleary, as a junior last year, led the Crimson to third place in the NCAA championships in Colorado, breaking the national intercollegiate scoring record in the process. Manchester played defense on the same team.
